‘We Need a Little Christmas’ comes from the 1966 Jerry Herman musical ‘Mame’, and was sung by Angela Lansbury on Broadway. This arrangement adds references to Tchaikovsky’s ‘Nutcracker’ and other well known public domain Holiday songs, to create a fun and frenetic Holiday show finale.

Fast and brash, this one is a tongue-twister throughout, though choral parts are accessible vocally. An unapologetically big sing, it builds and builds.

To give your show an arc, think about also using the other, contrasting arrangement of this song by Charlie, which is a wistful, slow ballad. He originally wrote both for one Holiday program, and put one at the beginning and the other at the end.
