This activist song by Gina Chavez and Jens Thörnvalt expresses well the frustration and anger felt by US feminists in 2020, and an absolute determination to persist. Ending upbeat, the twist is that ‘She Persisted’ becomes ‘We Persisted’.

Originally commissioned by Anna Crusis Women’s Choir in 2020, this SSAA arrangement is in 4 parts. The funk groove continues throughout, and the piece features an a cappella section in the bridge, a chant with clapping on 2 and 4, and a final triumphant close.
