‘Life On Mars’ is from Bowie’s 1971 album Hunky Dory, and has been described as a ‘gloriously strange sci-fi anthem’, and also a love song. Originally featuring the piano of Rick Wakeman and string arrangements of Mick Ronson, the lyric is surreal, cryptic but poetic. It is an absolute classic.

This intermediate level TTBB arrangement sticks to the form and groove of the original, and makes it accessible to community choruses. There is some counterpoint, and each chorus finishes with rich choral voicings on a sustained ‘ah’.
