Delighted to be a grant juror for LMCC's 2021 grant awards. I learnt a lot!

It could not be more crucial to keep the arts funded in New York City right now.

So it was especially exciting to have been chosen as a grant juror for the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s grant awards this year, and fun to work with colleagues and fellow arts practitioners from so many areas of music, from jazz and Indian music to choral singing and hop-hop. Hundreds of applications were considered in a detailed and comprehensive process, and debate was lively, as you can imagine! I was left with a sense that the process had real integrity, and also that it was compassionate, as far as is possible.

Congratulations to the many arts organizations that were funded, and please keep up the great work if you weren’t. Having been through the process from the other side at NYCGMC, I get it!
